The complaint keeps coming back.

Electrical control panel with wiring and components.

Why it never gets fixed

The controls contractor looks at the screen and says the equipment can't keep up. The mechanical contractor checks the unit, sees it running, and says it's controls. Both close the ticket. Next season the same zone is hot again, and you're the one fielding tenant calls.

What's usually behind it

  • Points left in manual override after an old service call, still running the building months later
  • Space sensors reading several degrees off, so the system chases the wrong number
  • Economizers stuck, disabled, or never set up
  • VAV airflow setpoints that can't carry the room's load
  • Schedules built for a tenant who left, conditioning empty floors at night
  • Heating and cooling fighting each other in the same zone

Why SMC can settle it

Brett Wiersma brings 35 years of hands-on HVAC experience to the controls side. We read your trend data, walk the equipment with your mechanical contractor, and put the same numbers in front of both sides. Once the cause is on paper, the argument is over.
